On 24 October I gave a talk at the University of Birmingham on my research on the LGBT anti-discrimination legislation in Serbia and how the introduction of laws is not enough to improve the lived experiences of LGBT people in Serbia. A recording of the talk is avaiblable below.

Dr George Kyris, who hosted the event, commented, "We were delighted that different groups of the School were able to join forces and bring together students and staff from diverse backgrounds. Dr Slootmaeckers gave a thought-provoking talk, which triggered a very interesting discussion afterwards and raise the visibility of LGBTQ research, in line with the Equality and Diversity priorities of our school".
